This compact broadleaf evergreen has wonderful foliage and is a wonderful addition to your shade garden. As the foliage unfurls, it’s covered in indumentum that cycles through white, tan, and bronze hues. It’s quite a spectacle! Gossler describes the flowers as pink buds that open to white blooms. However, my plant came from Gossler, and in my experience, the blooms are coral. While this doesn’t pose a significant issue since I primarily grow it for its foliage, it does make me question the identification of my specimen.
