Musa basjoo, or Japanese Banana, features huge, broadly paddle-shaped, lush green foliage with a tropical appearance. In warmer climes small, yellow bananas may develop after the golden-cream flowers open and ripen. Be sure to choose a location with plenty of room, sun, moisture and protection from wind. Mulch heavily for winter protection.
