Bergenia ‘Pink Dragonfly’

Pigsqueak

Evergreen Perennial

Most bergenias have broad, paddle-shaped leaves that can read as coarse in a small garden. 'Pink Dragonfly' is a more refined selection—narrower leaves, more compact habit, and genuinely useful across multiple seasons.

In winter, the foliage shifts from glossy green to deep plum-red. In early spring, bright pink flowers appear on stems that reach about 15 inches—taller than the foliage mound, well-proportioned to the plant. By summer it settles back into a tidy, evergreen clump around 10 inches tall and 12 inches wide, though garden performance can exceed label dimensions over time.

Sun to part shade, average water once established, hardy to zone 4. Deer resistant. Works well as a front-of-border edger, in containers, or massed on a slope.

This is the bergenia for gardeners who've dismissed bergenias.
