"This showy little barberry packs a lot of color into a small space. In spring glowing orange-red foliage emerges at the same time that clusters of small pale yellow blushed red flowers open on short thorny branches. As the foliage matures it deepens to a burgundy-red with a thin bright gold ring edging each leaf. This colorful show will last into autumn until it turns a rich mix of bright orange and brick-red. All of this on a dwarf shrub! This dwarf barberry prefers a location in full sun for the best foliage color. It will grow best in a site with well-drained soil, but will tolerate sand and clay.
