Geranium 'Patricia'

hardy geranium, cranesbill

Geranium endressii x psilostemon 'Patricia'

Herbaceous Perennial

"Outstanding Qualities
"Patricia' is noted for being one of the longest-blooming of the hardy geraniums. Its striking, black-centered magenta flowers just keep appearing from May until August. It has large, deeply cut leaves that form an attractive, low mound and in autumn the turn red. Grow it against a background of gold- or purple-foliaged plants to accent its elegant flowers. It is a hybrid of Geranium endressii and G. psilostemon. originating in England with geranium hybridizer Alan Bremner. Plantsman Daniel J. Hinkley describes it as ""a tidier and much longer-blossoming form of G. psilostemon.

Culture Notes
This hardy geranium prefers full sun but tolerates light or open shade with rich moist to well-drained soils. For the longest flowering and best bloom provide regular watering during prolonged dry spells. Cut it to the ground in late fall or early winter. This vigorous grower can be divided every three to four years in late winter to early spring."—Courtesy Great Plant Picks
