Plant Combo with Burgundy, Purple and Yellow Color Story

A composition of foliage and flower in the burgundy, purple, and yellow color scheme, the centerpiece of this vignette is Cornus Hedgerow's Gold. Its all-season performance includes this summertime scene with colorful variegated foliage edged in golden yellow, in fall the foliage takes on pleasing autumnal tones and in winter red stems enliven dreary days. At the left, the upright form of Helmond Pillar barberry, provides contrast, not only of color, but also texture and form. At its feet the exotic blooms and strappy foliage of the pineapple lily again introducing varied form, coupled with harmonious color. In the summer scene pictured here, the shrub dogwood is bejeweled with the dark purple blooms of Clematis. This gardener used C. 'Royal Velours' but another deep purple variety of modest size, such as C. 'Etoile Violette' would also work well.
