Plant Combo Featuring Delta Dawn Heuchera

This planting combination with a focus on foliage looks great for months on end. Taking center stage is Heuchera 'Delta Dawn', an exceptionally hardworking variety of coral bells with foliage color that evolves and changes through the seasons. Its bolder foliage is complemented by finely textured, golden foliage of the dwarf box honeysuckle (Lonicera nitida 'Twiggy'). A bold foliage accent of variegated hosta rounds out the display. Any number of medium-sized hosta with blue and gold variegation would work; we suggest Hosta 'June', which is a different (but very similar) to the variety pictured. For the keen-eyed plant collector, we'll identify the plant pictured at the lower right as Rhododendron recurvoides, a compact and slow growing species rhododendron. This is a nice pairing but we'll spare you the pain of trying to locate this unusual rhododendron by suggesting an alternate right out of the gate: Rhododendron williamsianum. Somewhat difficult to locate, but not impossible!
