Narrow Garden for Two-sided Screen

When space is at a premium, finding the right plants can be especially challenging. This space-conscious plant combination provides a plenty of color, texture, and blooms thanks to its reliance on narrow plants with a small footprint.

There’s a nice balance of deciduous vs. evergreen foliage—plenty of all-season foliage to provide some screening without becoming a monolithic, static hedge of unchanging green. The main screening plants include the narrow blue conifer and the rich green foliage of the the Black Dragon Japanese cedar. The Color Guard yucca provides additional year-round structure.

Flowers from late spring until late summer provide plenty of color and a welcoming landing spot for bees, butterflies, and other pollinators.
