An easy-care, perennial planting combination with a pleasing seasonal progression. The evergreen foliage of Helleborus 'Silver Lace' looks great year-round, but starting in late winter apple green blooms provide a shot of early color and continue to look good until early spring, at which point we recommend cutting them off at the base to allow room for the plant renew its foliage; the most compelling reason to grow this plant. Next on the scene, pink coneflower blooms do the heavy lifting for the summer bloom show until joined a bit later by the creamy panicles of Pennisetum 'Hameln' and mounds of late-summer daisy-shaped blooms of the New England Aster which continue to add color well into fall. This low-maintenance plant combo is attractive to birds, butterflies and hummers, is drought-tolerant, and does best in full sun.
