🌿 Details 🌿

Early blooms, or late depending upon your perspective, of Camellia 'Chansonette' are the color kickoff for this combo in late fall / early winter. The color theme is carried on by swathes of deep pink blooms atop the evergreen, ground-hugging foliage of the hardy geranium which has it most intense flush of bloom in spring, but repeats, albeit more sparingly, into the summer. Also in spring, the Chardonnay Pearls Deutzia is covered in sweet white blooms that look fresh and pretty against its yellow foliage. In early summer, Hydrangea s. 'Preziosa' gets in on the act with blooms that start out as ivory and then age to deep pink and then into crimson. In fall, the maple puts on an outstanding display of color.

Color and interest from foliage is equally, if not more important. The broad leaves of the hosta are a nice contrast to the finely textured ground cover. Large, variegated leaves of the Fatsia enhance the color story while adding all-season foliage suitable for dividing space or screening. The camellia's wider-than-tall growth habit creates a handsome mid plane even when not in flower. The heavy lifting in terms of privacy screening is carried out by the fastigiate plum yew.

Use this combo to divide space or create a low and open privacy screen that looks good for months.
