This planting combination will perform best in bright, open shade or filtered sun with regular water. It relies heavily on foliage to deliver year-round good-looks. But there’s ample blooms from spring to fall to keep the flower-lovers happy too. The evergreen plants were selected to provide screening and division of space without being overly dominant or getting too large for the space. All of this makes this planting plan a good choice for adding curb appeal to your front yard garden or urban courtyard. There’s a nice balance of evergreen plants to provide a steady presence against plants that provide flowers, fragrance, wonderful foliage in a variety of shapes, colors, and textures. In fall, the Seiryu Japanese maple puts on a gorgeous display.

Bed sizes included:

• 9' deep x 30' wide, rectangular bed. Designed to look best from one side, but attractive enough on the back to face the street or neighbor.
• An ell-shaped bed with legs of 30' and 19, tapering to 7' at each end'. Designed to look best from inside the curve, but is still attractive from the other side. Perfect for a front yard corner bed. Also suitable for tucking into a backyard corner bed.
